Who is the designer behind DJ's Dreams?

My name is Deena Joi Hosmer and I have been doing needlework since I was 5 years old.  And no I am not going to admit how long ago that is.  I have named this adventure DJ's Dreams in honor of my mother, Barbara, who passed away in 2000 after a long battle with lung cancer.  She was the only person who was ever allowed to call me DJ and she always taught us to follow our dreams.  When I started designing, I would print every design and show it to her to cheer her up.  I shared with her my dream to sell my designs and she kept telling me to go for it.  So here I am!!

I learned to cross stitch more than 15 years ago while I was earning a degree in English. I now work in Telecommunications at a major university. This means that I am the "Telephone Police" by day and a mild-mannered cross stitch designer by night.

I design whatever takes my fancy but I am especially fond of the classic quilt block patterns that were a part of growing up in Michigan. Yes, we really do have only two seasons, Winter and the other three months. I hope you have as much fun stitching my designs as I have designing them. Here's to a new generation of heirlooms.
